HVAC AHU coils are used for heating and cooling air as part of an air handling unit's function in a building's HVAC system. They achieve this by using tubes through which a hot or cold medium (like water or refrigerant) circulates, while air from the building passes over the coil's fins, transferring heat to or from the air. Coils also play a crucial role in dehumidification, where a cooling coil is used to lower the air temperature to its dew point, causing moisture to condense out of the air.
